News from the Scottish Government re:
At the end of June the 22 third sector interfaces and in the remaining 10 strong signs of emerging agreement on the form their interfaces will take.
In their offers of grant to SCVO and VDS for network support, they indicated that they might review the level of network support we fund as the development of interfaces progressed. Indeed they suggest the very presence of CVS and VC networks separately may be clouding the view of the interface goal.
Therefore they are giving 3 months notice to propose to withdraw CVS and VC network support from 1 October. While that is, conveniently, the half way point in the financial year they recognise that expenditure may not split as neatly and would be happy to discuss the grant which will remain to be paid. Nor do they intend that the sum withdrawn (be lost to the localism budget – there are many demands which they cannot currently meet and this will, if nothing else, enable investment for the future to get underway.
