CFINE promote good health and well-being through the sale of affordable, good quality fresh fruit and vegetables and other healthy produce. We set up Community Food Outlets staffed by volunteers to enable people who have limited access to fresh produce to purchase at favourable rates. Community Food initiatives North East was initially set up in 1997 and over the years has grown to become a successful social enterprise providing a quality service to thousands of individuals throughout the North East of Scotland and most recently in West Lothian. With a team of experienced and motivated staff and committed volunteers, our service aims to improve health & wellbeing and contribute to regeneration in disadvantaged and excluded communities. Local people can access our services throughout our 3 operational areas where there are around 80 community food outlets (CFO’s) open at various times throughout the week. We also actively encourage and support volunteering which brings a range of personal, family and community benefits.
