Hike & Bike Hub Galashiels
We promote active travel and healthy leisure activities - and make them available to everyone regardless of income. It is also time to think about how using active travel options for shorter journeys will help reduce carbon emissions and save us money.
Our other key priority is to raise acceptance of autism. As parents of a young autistic adult, we know some of the issues she has faced, particularly around employment. We also know that her experiences are shared by far too many autistic people. So, with that in mind, Hike & Bike Hub will aim to become an inclusive employer with a positive action recruitment policy to encourage, support and retain autistic staff members. Neurotypical individuals will also be welcome!
We offer information about local walking and cycling routes, information about activities, attractions and facilities as well as Walk It walks, led cycle rides, bike hire, bike repairs, and seating for those who want to chat, rest or even escape miserable weather! Customers can bring their cycles into the Hub; muddy boots and paws are also welcome.
