Ideas for Ears

Education, training and employment - Health and social care - Information, consultancy and support

We are helping to make Scotland a more hearing-friendly place for the benefit of the ageing population and the large numbers of all ages who have hearing loss and other hearing conditions.

Amongst our activities, we:

1) run the ‘Access for Ears’ database where people can rate and review public places (such as cafes, restaurants, shops, community centres, health facilities etc) according to how well they are able to hear and participate.

2) offer information sessions to build confidence and understanding of technology and other practical solutions that can assist in situations where hearing as needed or wanted is difficult or not possible.

3) help service providers and employers to identify and remedy hearing-related issues that impact on customers and staff. This includes: acoustics and noise; communication culture; and provision of hearing loops and other specialist support.
