Levenmouth Whale Project
The Levenmouth Whale Project was the brainchild of Levenmouth councillor Graham Ritchie and Helen Ritchie. Levenmouth is an area which has suffered from deprivation for decades. Despite some success, numerous small regeneration projects have failed to reverse its decline. With the coming of the railway and the River Leven Project, the stage is set to create an unmissable visitor destination in the heart of the town.
Graham launched his idea at a well-attended public meeting in April 2019 with extensive publicity in the print and broadcast media. The project was greeted with massive support from residents, businesses, community councils, politicians and the third sector.
Consequently, a company with a board of directors and an action committee were formed to take the project forward.
