The SNP are hoping to emulate the success of local social enterprise The Clean Close Company and do a ‘clean sweep’ in Dundee by winning both constituencies in the city at the General Election on May 6.
Dundee West SNP Candidate Jim Barrie visited the company’s premises in Mains Load today to meet Business Director Alex Fyffe and other staff and to see a demonstration of power cleaning equipment.
Since the not-for-profit company were founded in 2005, they have expanded into office cleaning and ground maintenance as well as many other areas of work and now have five vans and 26 employees.
Jim Barrie said: “I was delighted that Alex and John took time today to show me new cleaning procedures and tell me of the success and continuing expansion of the company.
“I was pleased to hear that they offer English as a foreign language and literacy and numeracy skills as part of their training package to employees.
“I was interested to hear of their development into carpet cleaning and sanitation which will have enormous green benefits for the city in terms of recycling resources.
“I hope they go from strength to strength and look forward to hearing of their further progress
