What’s your social and/or environmental mission? Hemp is probably the most valuable and versatile resource on the planet, and it can provide huge benefit to individuals and the environment; our mission is to promote it’s use in every day life as an industrial product and as part of a healthy lifestyle.

How do you do it? (Client group, practical daily work, customers) We have a shop on Great Junction Street, right in the heart of Leith. We welcome anyone who is curious to come and talk to us about CBD and hemp. We source most of our products from local companies, to show that the cannabis industry is already flourishing in Scotland.

What’s your personal motivation for being a social entrepreneur? I started taking CBD just over a year ago when I was struggling with maintaining my mental health. Within a couple of weeks my life had changed, and I saw the potential to positively affect many peoples’ lives with this simple product. Every bottle of oil I sell is a success story waiting to be told.

What are your current projects? Right now the focus is on building relationships with our customers and the broader community. We’re also very excited about the approaching festival season; we already get regular visits from tourists for whom cannabis is a familiar sight on the high street.

What exciting things do you have coming up? I don’t want to give too much away, but we’re planning a series of videos, leading up to an event that celebrates the role of cannabis in history, industry and health.

Who do you want to work with more?
I’m happy to talk about cannabis and cannabinoids to anyone who is willing to listen. I don’t give medical advice, but I know how to talk about the endo-cannabinoid system and it’s role in human health. If you are a researcher, a farmer, a politician, a business leader, a clinician, or just an average person curious about cannabis, come speak to me!

What’s your biggest challenge? The law on cannabis, coupled with decades of deliberate misinformation have left many people unclear or unsure about both CBD and cannabis generally. Part of my mission is to educate people about these fascinating plants and their products. Every day is a school day!

What top tips would you give to other social enterprises?
Be confident, work hard, rest more than you play, and TRY CBD!!!
