What’s your social and/or environmental mission?
When we found out about social enterprise, we were able to envision a new future where every transaction created a social impact. Social enterprises are changing the world and we want to educate, unite, and inspire people to create a better world by sharing the stories of social enterprises. We have created the most impactful gift, where we will introduce you to the world of social enterprise and you can know that the purchase of your gift is helping communities and the environment.

How do you do it?
Our gift hampers are full of products from social ventures each with a fascinating story of social impact. You can read all about this impact in a story booklet included inside every gift. For example, the warming Earl Grey tea educates vulnerable girls in tea-growing regions while the beautifully soap empowers individuals with disabilities in the UK. We also hire individuals with barriers to employment to join our operations team.

What’s your personal motivation for being a social entrepreneur?
It’s my calling. Businesses have been a leader in exploitation of people and the environment for decades, so it makes sense they are the leaders in reversing the damage. I want to inspire more entrepreneurs to consider impact.

What are your current projects?
Gearing up for Christmas. We are about to move into a large warehouse and hire a Christmas packing team. It is very exciting. Lauren has just joined our team to take over our digital marketing and we are looking forward to growing our team furthe

What exciting things do you have coming up?
We have just won the STV Growth Award where our team was recognised for its diversity and inclusion. As part of it, we have won £25,000 worth of airtime. We are very excited to be working with their team to produce this.

Who do you want to work with more?
We are excited about the opportunity to hire more individuals with barriers to employment this year. It is fantastic to provide these job opportunities and watch people flourish. We are also on a mission to get the word out about social enterprises through our gifts. More and more corporates are finding us and wanting to introduce their staff to social enterprise through our gifts. We are looking forward to more companies who are working hard to support social enterprises.

What’s your biggest challenge?
Our biggest challenge is building a team. Our team is incredibly important to take our company to the next stage.

What top tips would you give to other social enterprises?
Firstly, having a business partner has been a fantastic move for us. Karis and I make an excellent team and support each other through every stage. It won’t be easy, and that support is essential. Secondly, find amazing mentors. Our mentors have opened doors for us and provided amazing opportunities that we are very grateful for.
