Building Diversity, Inclusion, Equity and Justice Spotlight: Resilience Learning Partnership

Posted: 11 July 2024, in Awards

In 2023, we introduced the Building Diversity, Inclusion, Equity and Justice to recognise a social enterprise who are addressing issues around diversity, inclusion and equity

This award was won by Resilience Learning Partnership, a lived experience led social enterprise that works alongside organisations to help them explore and understand the role of lived experience when implementing Trauma Informed Practice (TIP).

We spoke to Julie Macdonald to find out why they applied for the 2023 Social Enterprise Awards Scotland, how winning have benefitted them and what’s next for their organisation.

Why did you apply to the Social Enterprise Awards Scotland 2023?

We felt like it was the right time and that we had enough a breadth and depth of achievements and work to put ourselves forwards.

How did the Awards benefit you?

The national coverage that the awards received enhanced our visibility and publicity.  It gave us huge confidence boost and an indication that we are doing things right.  We are very proud to share our news on our website and we are including the award in all funding applications.

What progress have you made since winning the Building Diversity, Inclusion, Equity and Justice category?

We are continuing our partnership with the National Trauma Transformation Programme alongside Scottish Government, COSLA, Improvement Service and NHS Education for Scotland.  We have also secured further funding and started new projects and work.

What would you say to someone considering entering the 2024 Social Enterprise Awards Scotland?

Do It!  We perhaps left it a wee bit too long and could have nominated ourselves sooner.  It is such a great way to celebrate your achievements with all your staff.  We would also love to see more winners from lived experience organisations.

What is next for your organisation? What can we look forward to or expect?

Working with new partners and embedding lived experience within decision making at the highest levels.

Thank you to Social Enterprise Scotland for all their support around the application process – they were really amazing!
