Join us in Edinburgh for this practical, interactive, policy and influencing workshop event!

This is a free, in-person only event – exclusively for SES members. We’ve hosted online versions of this event and will do so again in the near future.

  • Understand Scotland’s post-election political landscape.
  • Learn how to engage and influence policy-makers to benefit your social enterprise.
  • Brainstorm your own real policy challenge with peers and the policy team.

After lunch we’ll go to parliament for our Festival of Politics event Scotland’s economy – why can’t we own more?

Important note: When you register, you will be asked to confirm if you are attending the Festival of Politics event. SES will cover your ticket for this (£7.50), but availability is strictly limited and we need to ensure we don’t deny anyone a place.

  • Who do you think you need to talk to in order to solve it?
  • Where do you think the power lies to make the necessary changes?
  • Is it local or national?
  • Do you need some particular skill or knowledge?
  • Who could you partner with to make your voice louder?
  • Would a campaign be a good idea? What about local or national media?
  • We’ll discuss each issue in small groups and offer advice on solutions. Each group will then select one issue for wider group discussion.
