#IWD25 Stories – Ailsa Clark, Inspiralba
This International Women’s Day, we’re shining a spotlight on the incredible women leading the way in Scotland’s social enterprise sector. At Social Enterprise Scotland, we’re proud to have recently launched the Women in Social Enterprise (WISE) Collective – a dedicated network where female social entrepreneurs can connect, share experiences, and support one another.
In our mini blog series, we spoke to women in the network who are making a difference through their social enterprises to find out what International Women’s Day means to them, who inspires them and their advice to women everywhere.
In this blog, we spoke with Ailsa Clark, Founder and Executive Director at InspirAlba.
InspirAlba provides business support, learning and employability opportunities. They assist community based organisations to turn their ideas and aspirations into robust, sustainable business activities, whilst supporting individuals facing barriers to work to reach their full potential.
💜 What International Women’s Day Means to Me
International Women’s Day is an opportunity to celebrate the remarkable achievements of women across the globe from being incredible mothers, sisters, daughters to delivering social, environmental and economic benefits for their families and communities. It is also an opportunity to push back and highlight some of the inequality that is sadly still very much part of our lives and to promote all of the work that we do individually and collectively to make the world a fairer, more inclusive place for future generations of women.
💪 A Woman Who Inspires You
My Mum, my daughter and there are too many to mention, but a heck of a lot of my peers in the social and community led enterprise space.
🚀 My Advice to Women Everywhere
Keep doing the good stuff, have confidence to challenge inequality and find a network of women to support you and to offer mutual support, as it can be tough out there sometimes.
