The Furniture Project (Stranraer) Limited

The Furniture Project (Stranraer) Ltd is a multi-award-winning social enterprise that exists to alleviate poverty throughout Wigtownshire. We achieve this through our public social partnership with Dumfries & Galloway Council and our 20-year contract to deliver reuse services to communities across Wigtownshire.

The Furniture Project (Stranraer) Ltd operates the Community Reuse Shop who receive and collect donations of items of household and office goods from members of the community for reuse and recycling across Wigtownshire. We do this in order to alleviate the effects of poverty by providing affordable homeware for families in receipt of a low income and the wider community.

We also provide therapeutic volunteering opportunities, employability skills and employment for young and older members of our community and reduces waste volume going to landfill.

We have over two decades of experience in community development work allowing us to operate a number of community projects, such as free school uniform, winter warmth clothing, Christmas hampers and Rhins Active, which is an inclusive cycle programme reusing cycles diverted from the recycling centres throughout Dumfries and Galloway.
