Spotlight on Castlemilk Wellbeing Hub CIC
In our latest member spotlight, we’re thrilled to be joined by Tracey Dillon, Director of Castlemilk Wellbeing Hub CIC.
What does your social enterprise do, and why do you do it?
At Castlemilk Well-being Hub CIC, we’re all about helping people feel better, mentally, emotionally and physically. We provide a warm, welcoming space in the heart of the community where people can access therapies, wellbeing activities, and support that help them heal, grow, and thrive.
What products, services and/or experiences do you currently offer?
Our classes range from Boxing for Fitness to Chair Yoga for those with less mobility, and our Sound Baths have quickly become a local favourite for relaxation and calm.
We’re also excited to announce the opening of our new therapy room, offering Lymphatic massage, Indian Head Massage, Emmett Therapy for mobility, Reiki and 1:1 counselling, coaching, and hypnotherapy – all under one welcoming roof.
What’s your personal motivation?
My motivation comes from my own journey of healing and transformation. Being from Castlemilk and having my own lived experience of trauma, and going through a time when I struggled with my own well-being stress, burnout, the feeling of being constantly on and not truly living. Over time, through coaching, hypnotherapy, then become a qualified Coach & Hypnotherapist and a lot of self-discovery, I learned how powerful it can be when we take charge of our health and happiness.
That experience completely changed my life, and it lit a fire in me to help others find the same sense of peace, confidence, and joy. I know what it’s like to feel stuck and how incredible it feels to move beyond that. CWH grew from that passion it’s about creating the kind of space I wish I’d had when I needed support most.
Seeing people walk through our doors feeling heavy and leave a little lighter, more hopeful, and more themselves is what keeps me going in building this space.
What is next on the horizon for your social enterprise, and how do you plan to get there?
We’re looking to grow in size and in vision. The next step for Castlemilk Well-being Hub is to expand our reach and deepen our impact across the community. We want to offer even more accessible wellbeing services, bring in new therapies and workshops, and strengthen partnerships with other local organisations that share our passion for health, connection, and positive change.
We’re also working on developing a programme of preventative wellbeing support, helping people take care of their mental and physical health before things reach a crisis point. That means more community classes, drop-in spaces, and opportunities for people to build skills for resilience and self-care.
To get there, we’re focusing on sustainability: securing funding, building strong collaborations, and nurturing our incredible team of practitioners and volunteers. The goal is simple: to make wellbeing a normal part of everyday life in our community, and to ensure the Hub continues to be a space where people feel supported, empowered, and inspired to live well.
What’s the hardest thing you’ve had to overcome in your social enterprise journey?
Without a doubt, the biggest challenge has been finding the right help and support when it comes to funding. Like many social enterprises, we have the passion, the vision, and a clear understanding of what our community needs, but turning that into sustainable financial support isn’t always easy.
It can be tricky to navigate the world of applications, criteria, and processes while still trying to keep our services running day to day. There have been moments where it felt like we were juggling a hundred things at once!
But every challenge has taught us something. We’ve learned to reach out, to collaborate, and to keep learning about what funders are really looking for. Slowly but surely, we’re building stronger foundations and creating new partnerships that will help the Hub grow sustainably, because our community deserves something lasting, not just short-term fixes.
What is your most satisfying achievement so far?
The most rewarding achievement isn’t a project or an award, it’s hearing the words of the people who come through our doors. When someone tells us they instantly felt a warm, welcoming vibe, or that the Hub feels like a much-needed addition to the community, it means everything.
It reminds me of why we do what we do. Creating a space where people feel safe, seen, and supported is the real success. It’s the kind of feedback that fuels us to keep going, keep growing, and keep bringing more wellbeing opportunities to the people who need them most.
How has being a member of Social Enterprise Scotland helped you?
We’re still finding our way through the support available, but it’s already made a big difference knowing that we’re not alone on this journey. Being part of Social Enterprise Scotland gives us a sense of connection to other people and organisations who understand the highs, the hurdles, and the heart behind what we do.
It’s reassuring to know there’s a wider network out there that we can turn to for guidance, inspiration, and shared learning.
Who in the social enterprise community inspires you and why?
We’ve been really inspired by Moray Wellbeing Hub. They’ve created a strong and supportive model for community wellbeing, one that’s rooted in lived experience, empowerment, and genuine connection. Seeing what they’ve achieved gives us a real sense of what’s possible when a community truly comes together around health and wellbeing.
We’ve actually reached out to them about a social exchange visit, as we’d love to learn from their approach and share ideas. Even though we haven’t managed to connect just yet, their work continues to inspire us to keep building something meaningful and sustainable here in Castlemilk.
What top tips would you give to other social enterprises?
Stay inspired, stay connected, and don’t try to do it all on your own. Running a social enterprise can be incredibly rewarding, but it can also be a bit of a rollercoaster, so surround yourself with people who lift you up, share ideas, and remind you why you started.
Seek out support wherever you can find it, from other social enterprises, networks, mentors, and your community. Every conversation can spark something new. And most importantly, keep your passion at the centre of everything you do.
