Social Enterprise Scotland, the national business and campaigning body, has launched the annual Social Enterprise Awards Scotland 2014.

The annual awards are to celebrate and recognise the achievements of Scotland’s innovative social enterprises, raise their profile and demonstrate their social and economic impact. Applications are open to all social enterprises across Scotland and categories also include awards for those supporting social enterprise.

Fraser Kelly, Chief Executive of Social Enterprise Scotland, said:

“Social Enterprise Scotland is delighted to announce the launch of the Social Enterprise Awards Scotland 2014. Last year saw over 80 applications to the Awards in Scotland, showing outstanding quality in goods and services across the length and breadth of Scotland – and fantastic imagination and creativity by incredible people.”

Craig Sanderson, Chief Executive of Link Group – winners of last year’s Scottish and UK National Social Enterprise of the year said:

“Since Link was formed in 1962 it has, in effect, been a social enterprise – having successfully delivered not only its core activity of providing homes but also supporting individuals and regenerating and reinvesting in communities. We have been honoured many times in the past but are particularly proud of this award as it recognises not only our social impact but also our entrepreneurial and innovative approach to meet a whole range of challenges.”
